When a line is parallel to another, it means they have the same slope. The equation of the line is y=my+b where m=slope. Our original slope is -2, and we need this line to pass through the points (2,2). So we simply plug the information in the point slope formula which says....

y-y1=m(x-x1) where m=-2, x1=2, and y1=2

Y-2=-2(x-2)... I am going to destitute the -2 into the x and 2.

Y-2=-2x+2.... now I am going to isolate the y to put it in y=my+b form by adding 2 to both sides and we see that it cancels on the left.

Y=-2x+4 I believe should be your answer but is not there. Further it should be noted that there must be a typo either in the answer choices, or in the wording of the question because this equation does not pass through (2,2)
