Analogous structures have different evolutionary ancestries but they have the same function. Physical features shared due to evolutionary history (a common ancestor) are said to be homologous.  Examples of Analogous structures are the wings of birds, bats and insects. Whereas homologous structures are the opposite. They have similar ancestries and common traits but maybe not have the same function in an organism.

Tiktaalik better known as the "fishapod," is a 375 million year old fossil fish which was discovered in the Canadian Arctic in 2004. Tiktaalik have fins with thin ray bones, scales, and gills like most fish.
