Respuesta :

The four components of a vehicles control system include the steering wheel and column, the brakes, the gear or shift mechanism and the accelerator.

Vehicle control system has basically four major components which are

- the steering wheel and column

- the brakes

- the gear or shift mechanism

- the accelerator

What is a Vehicle?

Vehicle is a machine basically with an objective to transport people or cargo. It include Car, Bus, Wagons, Bicycle, Aircraft, Ship etc.

They are the mode of transportation functional on land, in water or in air. They are the requirement of humans as it fulfills human need and provide ease to life.

Vehicle can be classified into different categories. One of these is Gear and Non gear vehicles.

What are the major components of the vehicles:

The major components of the vehicles are

- Steering Wheel and Column

Steering Wheel and Column are used in modern vehicle and majorly every vehicle has steering wheel and column.

Named is derived from the process of Steering which is performed by the driver.  Steering is based either on mechanical process or through the assistance of hydraulic power steering.

Steering vehicles are placed in vehicle as per the traffic of the country and thus vehicles are described either as Right Hand drive or Left Hand drive.

-Brakes

Its a mechanical device installed in vehicle which inhibits motion by absorbing energy from moving system. Used for slowing or stopping the vehicle.

Most brakes commonly use friction between two surfaces pressed together to convert the kinetic energy of the moving object into heat, though other methods of energy conversion may be employed.

Example- Regenerative Braking convert much of the energy into electrical energy and can be later used.

Eddy currents brakes used magnetic fields to convert kinetic energy into electric current in disc brakes

- Gear

A gear is a rotating circular machine in cut teeth shape or, in the case of a cogwheel or gearwheel, inserted teeth (called cogs), which mesh with another (compatible) toothed part to transmit (convert) torque and speed.

The basic principle behind the operation of gears is analogous to the basic principle of levers.

Gear vehicles can change speed, torque and direction of power source. Its an example of simple machine helping in creating in mechanical advantage through their gear ratio.

- Accelerator

A car accelerator also known as a gas pedal which is located on the floor of a car on the far-right. It is called “accelerator” because it controls the speed of a car.

The deeper we push the car accelerator, the more speed the car generates. Generally speaking, an accelerator is a pedal we push to control the speed of our cars.

Mechanically saying, an accelerator in a car controls the flow rate of the fuel to the combustion chamber. The deeper one push the pedal, the more fuel is added to the combustion chamber, and the fuel burned with the air gives our cars power to accelerate.
