The NAFTA, or North American Free Trade Association, has both helped and damaged Mexico's economy. Mexico is heavily dependent on the United States' economy, so free trade between the two countries has helped it become wealthier. However, for the same reasons, many Mexicans are concerned about how the United States will hinder the country's economy. Products such as apples and corn syrup are some products that the United States trades, and the free trade of such products has made the demand for Mexican products go down. For these reasons, the NAFTA has both helped and hindered the Mexican economy.
Hope this helps!
