The bill of rights was adopted for many reasons, including to protect the rights and liberties of the states from abuse of power by the newly created government
The Bill of Rights refers to the first ten Amendments to the US Constitution that exist nowadays; it was first proposed by a loose political coalition called the Anti-Federalists who promoted the establishment of strong states governments and a limited central government. One of the reasons that it was adopted was to list specific prohibitions on governmental power and protect individual liberties, such as the right to express, to practice the religion of our choice, to have a fair trial, to be protected against unreasonable searches and seizures and to have reserved powers.
