for students were asked to draw a parallelogram. each drew a differently-named figure, but each was correct.

The students could have drawn a rectangle, a square, a rhombus, and a normal parallelogram.  All four of these figures are parallelograms, however each has a more specific name, leading to each having a differently-named figure.
