These powers set the Congress’ role for governing the country and how it can be combined with the other parts of the federal government of the US. Basically, they describe everything the Congress is allowed to do.  

Some of them are:

• Borrow money so they can pay the actions taken by the federal government.

• Enforce rules and laws for the guideline of trade with other nations, the interstate commerce and the trade with Indian tribes.

• Set rules to obtain the citizenship of the US.  

• Coin and regulate currency.

• Control the exchange rate
