Most hunter-gatherer societies were nomadic and traveled in small groups. They also were egalitarian and divided labor.
Characteristics of hunter-gatherer societies:
A hunter gatherer society is a society which existed 2 million years ago and it’s a type of society in which humans’ lives are purely based on a process called ‘Foraging’, which means collecting wild animals and plants for their needs and requirements of survival.
Food, shelter, clothing anything that’s their requirement, they inculcate wild animals and plants to satisfy their needs.
Characteristics of a hunter gatherer society are as follows,
- As their brain developed, Hunter gatherers showed a great level of intelligence when it came to the knowledge of plants and various animals.
- They were able to track down preys using various techniques and each time they would succeed in doing so.
- These people killed animals instead of scavenging meat from dead animals which set aside a vegetation which was later then used for consumption.
