Answer:

Case I

Magnification is the ability of a microscope to magnify the object for an enlarges vision.

The magnification of a microscope is calculated by multiplying the lens power of the objective lens to the lens power of the eyepiece.

Magnification= objective lens (power)  X eyepiece ( power)

Case II

To focus a microscope using a lens of high power in the following way:

1. Place the specimen slide on the stage.

2. Turn the revolving turret and focus the lens over the specimen.

3. Look at the stage and the objective lens from the side and move the stage upward.

4. Move the object as up as it can go taking care of that objective lens do not touch the coverslip.

5. Move the focus knob until the image comes into focus after viewing from the eyepiece.

The precaution that should be taken is that keep the high power lenses away from the light.
