Do you think that the United States should officially adopt the metric system?

If so, do you think the US should adopt the metric system slowly over time or quickly?

If not, do you think that science in the US should change back to using older units, like feet and pounds?

Explain your choice in a short paragraph.

Answer:

Yes , metric system being used internationally as a system of measurement should  be highly accepted.

Explanation:

  • United states being a highly industrialized country, needs its commodities to be accurately measured internationally they have to adopt metric system which is the most appropriate  measure of weight and other measures.
  • For instance in the field of trade and manufacturing of commodities in industries the metric system is used to  accurately measure mass of products, volume of liquids height and length of products. In the field of science ;chemistry and physics its used to measure volts are used to measure  current flow, degrees Celsius in the thermometer to measure temperature, kilograms to measure weight, meters and kilometers to measure distance, this are the modern measures  used  internationally.
  • The united states should adopt the system faster so as to meet the international  uniformity. This will help to unify a lot of units which are used all over the world. The metric system will also  remove confusion among scientists and other research fields to have common units and standards for easy  cohesion and common understanding  through using common recognized measure by  international system of units.
