The similarities between the Germanic culture and the Roman culture:
Both the cultures broadly practised democracy and consisted of patriarchal families . Slavery was prominent in both the cultures . Agriculture was the major occupation in both cultures.
Though the democracy in Rome was transformed into a Republic, it did have a democracy for a long time. In both cultures, the eldest man in the family headed the family. The Roman families were conjugal in nature. Both cultures practised slavery to a great extent.
