I would advise him to pay attention to every section and draft an employer-centric cover letter, where he clearly mentions the position he is applying for and highlights his unique education, experience and relevant skills in a concise manner. To achieve the same, the best practise would be to put the information in a straightforward and simple manner so that it is easy for the employer to understand and evaluate the profile.
One of the suggestions to improve the quality of electronic cover letter is that it must include all the educational qualifications and skills that are necessary to fetch the job for the post applied for.
- If the friend mentions all the relevant educational qualifications and skills required for the job that will be easy for the recruitment firm for better selection.
- Other than mentioning the education and skills necessary for job he or she can also mention other abilities that are indirectly associated with office work like leadership qualities, ability to handle clients, computational skills, and other skills which can show that he or she is a multitasker and suitable for the organization.
- He or she can also mention about linguistic skills. If he or she is able to comprehend more than one language than it will be another skill that can help him or her to skill job.
