Adaptation of an organism can be of two type generalist or specialist. A generalist species can live in variety of different types of environment and can have different diets present in those environments. For example, a rat another examples is a raccoon, they can be found throughout a large graphical area and can thrive on the resources which are available there. These generalist organism can we seen in different places like mountains, forests, rural, urban, arid or semi arid, and area near seashore.
While specialist species can only be found in an area with specific environmental conditions like the animals found in the brackish water cannot be found in the seawater or in the river water.
