Two ways to use properties of exponents are explained
Solution:
Two important properties also known as law of exponents are as follows
1) Property of Multiplication
2) Property of Division
Property of Multiplication:
For any real number a,
[tex]\mathrm{a}^{\mathrm{n}} \times\mathrm{a}^{\mathrm{m}}=\mathrm{a}^{\mathrm{n}+\mathrm{m}}[/tex]
Example:
[tex]2^{2} \times 2^{3}=2^{2+3}=2^{5}[/tex]
Property of Division:
For any real number a,
[tex]\frac{a^{n}}{a^{m}}=a^{n-m}[/tex]
Example:
[tex]\frac{2^{3}}{2^{2}}=2^{3-2}=2^{1}[/tex]
