Since both fractions have a common denominator you can remove the denominators and solve for x normally (that doesn’t mean for every single problem you can remove the denominator if they are the same. You can only remove the denominator if all you are trying to do is solve for x)
3x-5=4 add 5 to both sides
3x=9 divide both sides by 3
