Explanation:

  • In 1531, the conquistador Francisco Pizzaro set out to explore Peru on behalf of Spain. He soon met the emissaries of Emperor Inca, Atahualpe, with whom he arranged to meet. At that meeting, the Pizarro people massacred the unarmed Emperor's entourage and then captured  Atahualpu himself.
  • This disrupted the empire as no decision could be made without the Emperor's consent.
  • Pizzaro first accepted the fabulous buyout for Atahualpa and then ordered him executed.
  • He then quickly conquered with less than 200 soldiers the Inca Empire, which had not yet recovered from the long civil war (1525–1532), which was fought between the sons of Huayna Capak.
  • The Inca Empire fell from 1532 to 1533. under the unstoppable rush of the Spanish conquistadors, who used the Incas road network to penetrate the American continent.
