Just like the name suggests, a shield volcano looks like an inverted shield on the ground. The mountain is therefore characterized by low gradient slopes and a wide base.

Explanation:

The volcanic eruptions that form these types of mountains are not explosive but rather magma flows from the vent to down the sides by gravity before the magma cools to rock. The boundary at a divergent boundary does not much stress like at a convergent  boundary because the plates are moving away from each other. The magma from the mantle upwells to fill in the void left between the plates, therefore does not eject for the ground with much force.

B. Fissure

Explanation:

Fissures are cracks on the surface that may be only a few meters wide while sometimes running for kilometers.

Divergent plate boundaries on land can form a rift valley (large cracks), and volcanism can occur in these areas as magma rises to fill in the gaps between the diverging plates. *This also describes a fissure.
