Becoming an Airline Pilot is the right career for me because I like to travel and work with large mechanical machines, and I know this career has lots of benefits for me. In this career has tons stepping stones to go through before reaching what a Captain of your own plane. In order to reach Captain you must show you are ready for the big league. What’s better than enjoying what you do while getting paid high amounts. Back in the days, making airplanes wasn’t easy, and getting people to fly them wasn’t any faster or easier too. The main reason pilots were hired was because the United States needed weapons, and ammo, they were dropped with precise aim with care packages. 1900’s where a time a need fir fast transportation for larger cities and larger supplies such as steel, bolts, and iron tools. Before you can even get in an Aircraft you must pass Army Flight School, and only 14% of pilots passed the test. All pilots who are paid must have at least had a federal aviation admiration. 104,100 jobs were hired for pilots, copilots, and flight engineers in 2002. “Commercial pilots are the most employed while Airline pilots are actually loosing people”. People who retire at age 65 are left with fewer people to replace them, Airlines have to hire out of country pilots to take their jobs. To become a pilot you must know your plane by heart, just in case any worst case scenario happens you know what your plane can handle and what it cant. Part of being a pilot knows the overall common among them. How this Study was Conducted For this study of airline pilots, I conducted two forms of research. I interviewed four current airline pilots. One is a captain at a major U.S. airline. Two are first officers at a major U.S. airline. One is a first officer at a regional subsidiary for a major U.S. airline. I also read various Internet and library database sources that provided information about airline pilots’ lives and their personality traits. It’s in the Blood If you were to ask me.
