Now making friends face to face will allow you to judge the true nature of the person and then you can see if you both can be good friends or not.
In my own opinion, I would make friends after meeting them face to face. After that we can continue the friendship through social media or chat groups, but at the beginning, I would like to see the person's true nature in meet ups.
