HELPPP ASAPPPP PLEASEEEE!!!!!!!

Which is a correct first step in solving the inequality -4(2x – 1) > 5-3x?
CES
Distribute -4 to get -8x + 4 >5 - 3x.
Distribute -4 to get -8x – 1 >5 - 3x.
Subtract 2x from both sides of the inequality.
Add 1 to both sides of the inequality.

Hello! Inequalities are super fun, so I'm glad to help out.

First, we'll be following the laws of PEMDAS which are:

Parentheses

Exponents

Multiplication

Division

Subtraction

Addition

So first we do the parentheses. Even though we have parentheses, they are currently not solvable.

Next, exponents! No exponents.

Then multiplication! Now, when a number is really close to parentheses, it incidates that we should multiply! So we multiply -4 * (2x-1).

First we multiply -4 to 2x getting -8x.

Next we multiply -4 to -1. When you multiply two negatives you get a positive so we get plain 4.

So that gives us -8x+4>5-3x

The other ones are incorrect for obvious reasons. DM me for an explanation using process of elimination.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your inequalities.
