The two excerpts shown above refer to Hrothgar.
The first excerpt shows how Hrothgar suffered extreme agony and a sense of helplessness and suffering when his realm was constantly attacked by the monster Grendel and he could do nothing to prevent it.
The second excerpt, in turn, shows how Hrothgar was a great ruler, famous for his achievements, but sat sad on his throne for not being able to free his people from Grendel's attacks.
Hrothgar is a character from the tale "Beowulf" and is the king of the D*n*s, whose kingdom is constantly attacked by Grendel, a cruel, sadistic and invincible being.
About Hrothgar we can say that:
- He is full of riches.
- He is loved and honored by his people.
- He can't face Grendel and it saddens him.
- He welcomes Beowulf very well as he knows he can help him.
With this, we can conclude that Hrothgar represents something very important for human life, as he shows that no matter how rich and imposing we are, we always need to be humble enough to ask for help in case of need.
