This
phenomenon represents homeostasis. It is a self regulating process
used by biological systems to maintain stability while adjusting to
conditions that are optimal for survival. If it is successful, life
will continue.
In this example the African elephants flap
their large ears in the air to help cool the blood that flows through
them.
