Loss of image quality where you can see individual pixels is called PDP (Pixel Distortion Phenomenon). Pixel Distortion is caused by zooming and over processing an image. When you magnify an image too much the image gets destroyed and blurry.
If you enlarge a bitmap image, the image quality will decrease and you can see the individual pixels. This process where the image breaks into individual pixels is called pixelation.
