Langston Hughes yearns for equality in the poem “I Dream A World,” while in the poem “Democracy” he actively advocates the idea of fighting for equal treatment.
Through the title of the poem, it is suggestive that the poem 'Democracy' talks about the politics and writers view's on it. The writer uses lots of figurative devices such as simile and imageries to assert and emphasize his points. Here, the writer asks for his rights and liberty regardless of its color and want rights both legally and ethically being a citizen of America. Another democracy he asks for the equal recognition in the society. Due to racial stereotyping the whites are dominant and blacks are considered to be the second class of people.
