The correct answer is the second one. The stamp act put a tax on paper items which angered the colonist. The Stamp Act plus the other acts pushed the colonists to commit the Boston Tea Party. These struggles against Great Britain continued until the Declaration of Independence was signed granting independence to the colonists.
