The type of enzyme that are synthesized in an environment
where an operon codes for enzymes that synthesize a protein from precursor
amino acid molecules are the repressible enzymes. It binds to the operator and
blocks attachment of RNA polymerase to the promoter, preventing transcription
of the genes.
