In July 1995, the army of the Republic of Srpska, with the help of the troops of the Republic of Serbia, killed over eight thousand Bosniaks in just a few days because of their ethnic and religious affiliation.

The genocide happened in front of the public in the heart of the European continent. On this occasion, soldiers were not killed, but civilians of all ages. The Srebrenica genocide has been ruled at an international tribunal in The Hague. In its characteristics, the crime in Srebrenica had all the components of genocide. Legal experts from around the world have given their opinions on this matter, where it has been confirmed that genocide has recurred on European soil after World War II.
