Solving multi step inequality

To solve this, you need to isolate/get the variable "x" by itself in the inequality:
[tex]\frac{3x}{4} +2x>2[/tex] To combine fractions, the denominators have to be the same, so I would multiply 2x by 4/4
[tex]\frac{3x}{4} +2x(\frac{4}{4})>2[/tex]
[tex]\frac{3x}{4} +\frac{8x}{4} >2[/tex] Now combine the fractions
[tex]\frac{11x}{4} >2[/tex] Multiply 4 on both sides
[tex](4)\frac{11x}{4}>2(4)[/tex]
11x > 8 Divide 11 on both sides to get "x" by itself
[tex]x>\frac{8}{11}[/tex]
