This is the topic of food webs energy distributions. It
starts with producers(grass, shrubs, etc.), Primary consumers(herbivores), secondary consumers (carnivorous), tertiary consumers(consume primarily secondary consumers), decomposers(fungus that eat carcus' after death). There is a certain amount energy that the producers will start with on the base trophic level and it passes on the energy( and even the diseases) going up the pyramid.
