John has three children ken,mark,and ashley. Ken age is two years more than 14 times marks age. Ashley’s age is 1 year less than twice marks age. Find each child age if the sum of the ages is 35.

The age of  Ken = (14x + 2) years and

The age of  Ashley = (2x - 1) years

To find, the age of  each child = ?

According to question,

∴ x + (14x + 2) + (2x - 1) = 35

⇒ x + 14x + 2 + 2x - 1 = 35

⇒ 17x + 1 = 35

⇒ 17x  = 35 - 1 = 34

⇒ x = 2

∴ The age of Marks = 2 years,

The age of  Ken = 14(2) + 2 = 30 years and

The age of  Ashley = 2(2) - 1 =  3 years
