Well firstly for price businesses look at production and other costs like marketing and shopping and work out a good profit. Then quantity produced is worked out by seeing demand for their product like if lots of people buy it they know they can produce more.

Demand for the products is what ultimately governs the quantity produced and it's price.

It is useless to speak about the supply and the production without considering the demand as eventually, in today's competitive markets, if there is no demand, it is not worth producing as there will be no profit in it.

Moreover, market trends, new products from the competitors, legal and political environment could effect the supply and it's prices as well.
