There comes a day in your life when all your hard work pays off. Today is that day, When I arrived at school I was informed that I won a first prize at the painting competition that was held a week ago. I was surprised, I was shocked. I was filled with so many exhilarating emotions that even words cannot express my feelings and thoughts.

The topic for the painting competition was ‘Make My City Green.’ I had a put a lot of time and efforts as to what should be included and I eventually I bumped with an idea. On a drawing paper, on one side I painted an unclean, messy city where all the garbage are lying around on roads and stress. And because of this how the surrounding area was stinking. While on the other side I illustrated the clean roads and stress, fresh air from the trees, and people leading a healthy life. Afterwards I added a message at the bottom of the drawing stating that ‘Look at both these pictures, which one would you prefer? The clean one right! Then be the change! Make my (our) city green.’

I never thought this painting will be appreciated so much. My friends, and parents were beyond happy. Their happiness knew no bound. My teachers handed me a certificate while my parents gifted me art supplies for my amazing work. I’m truly grateful and blessed. And today was indeed the best day of my life.
