Hello,
I am writing this letter to urge you to abstain from smoking. Study’s show that 480,000 people in the Us die every year from smoking. And, 41,000 people in the Us die every year from second hand smoking. Smoking can cause lung cancer leading to death. It would be very unfortunate if we lost you or another family member from smoking or second hand smoking.

Dear father,

We used to be so close. I wish we could be close again but I'm afraid we can't until you stop smoking. I now realize that you have smoked for as long as I can remember. I have just recently learned what it can do to a person. I would have hoped that you cared about me and the rest of my siblings to stop. You know I will always love and trust you but I have begun to question if you actually care about me. Have you ever cared about me. To me it doesn't seem so. If you truly loved me you would stop smoking. You know how much I and everyone around you loves you yet you still do this cruel act to your body. You put me at risk of a major heartbreak father, I hope that you are strong enough to fight this addiction of yours but until then I refuse to see my childhood role model go down this path.
