Generally, I find no problems in free market competition.
As long as it does not revolved around resources that become the basic needs for most people. This include things such as Oil, water, Natural Gas, electricity, etc.
Since most people most likely use such products everyday, people will always buy it regardless of how expensive those products are. If we let the private Industry controlled such resources, they might abuse it and increase the price as high as they can.
This is why I personally believed that Government need to be involved in handling such resources.
At the very least, both the Government and private sector can share ownership toward that oil. So the government can act as a regulator that prevent the price abuse.
