People of have different views. The best analysis of this passage is that entertains the reader because it contrasts what Momma says with what she does.

When you study the passage, it centers around how Momma did says pride is bad, but she still, was still prideful.

Her actions is therefore contrary to what she said and this makes the reader laugh. It is like hypocrisy and it is not doing what you are preaching. This will make people not to trust any words you say.
