The Yellow Power Movement of the 1960s sought to end laboral discrimination against Asian Americans.
During the agitated 1960s, politicians and the media began to represent the Chinese Americans and the Japanese Americans as "model minorities" because they were able to overcome the history of racism and discrimination through hard work, love for education and patriotism.
The role of the Asian American community had a fundamental role in the strike of the University of San Francisco in 1969, for the community it was a process of reunion, a clear example is found in the passage where the testimonies related that they read traditional Chinese literature to create new tactics to succeed in the strike.
