He hides the old man's body under one of the wooden planks/floor boards. However, he later goes insane and imagines that he can hear the heart still beating and digs the body out.
It's been a while since I read it so I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

The main character in the Tell-Tale Heart hides the old man's body by dismembering it and putting it under the floorboards. He cuts off the head, arms, and legs, and uses a tub to catch the old man's blood so that he doesn't leave any evidence of his murder. He then tears up three of the floorboards and stores the body beneath them. When authorities arrive, he then sits on a chair on top of the loose floorboards, until he hallucinates the old man's heart beating and confesses.
Hope this helps!
