Who was a pro-US leader in Iran?
A. Anwar el-Sadat
B. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini
C. Menachem Begin
D. Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi

Respuesta :

D. Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi

Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi was a pro-US leader in Iran.

Before Iran became an Islamic Republic, it was ruled by a Shah and the last one was Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. He was an ally of Western nations most especially the United States.

This led to Iran developing rapidly and becoming westernized. A lot of people in Iran did not like this as they were devout Muslims and this led to the Iranian Revolution that saw the Shah overthrown and the Ayatollah become the Supreme power in Iran.

The first option is wrong because Sadat was an Egyptian leader. The second option is wrong because the Ayatollah is not pro-US. The third option is likewise wrong as well because Menachem Begin was an Israeli leader.

The best option is therefore the last because Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi was pro-US and ruled Iran.
