I believe that the men make the traditional baby quilt because the females work extremely hard and when they are giving birth they obviously don't have the time or energy to make a quilt. I personally don't think that textiles are a craft for females only because if someone enjoys doing something or they're helping somebody else out, then it doesn't matter if they're a male or a female. Especially not in today's day and age. Men and Women today can do anything they want to do. It doesn't matter if it's considered a female activity or a male activity. People can do what they want and it's no one else's right to judge them based on the activities they want to participate in. As long as they're happy and they're not hurting themselves or anyone else in the process, people can do whatever they want. Oh and also as long as they're not breaking any laws.

The Hopi people were villagers and farmers. Their villages were located in the northern part of Arizona's steep plateaus. Because they live in such remote places, the Hopi tribe has managed to preserve their culture.

The Hopi tribe has a custom of having males sew the traditional baby quilt because;

  • People can do whatever they want as long as they are pleased and do not harm themselves or others in the process. Oh, and as long as they are not breaking any laws, of course.
