A triangular pyramid is shown on the figure below. The height of the pyramid is 15 inches. The volume is cubic inches

Given:
Base of the pyramid = 16 inches
Height of the base (h) = 20 inches
Height of the pyramid (H) = 15 inches
To find:
The volume of the triangular pyramid.
Solution:
Area of the base (B) = [tex]\frac{1}{2}bh[/tex]
[tex]$=\frac{1}{2}\times 16 \times 20[/tex]
Area of the base (B) = 160 in²
Volume of triangular pyramid:
[tex]$V=\frac{1}{3} BH[/tex]
where B is base area and h is the height of the pyramid.
[tex]$V=\frac{1}{3} \times 160\times 15[/tex]
[tex]$V=800[/tex] in³
The volume of the triangular pyramid is 800 cubic inches.
