What was the most important reason the romans built roads ?
PLEASE ANSWER ASAP!!!

Answer:
Explanation:
The primary function of all the roads the Romans built was to link their military garrisons.Advantages to trade and communications were entirely a by product.
All the roads were built in a straight line, through or over all natural obstacles. This meant the legions would have the shortest distance to march between any 2 given points. Each road was also wide enough for 2 legions to pass each other,in opposite directions, in normal marching order. This meant each road could be used to send troops to different places at the same time.
As the Empire was built on conquest, and the legions defended the frontiers, where all of them were deployed until the end of the 3rd century AD, the roads were important in enabling the legions and other troops to move to where they were needed as quickly and smoothly as possible.
