The Freedmen's Bureau had its greatest accomplishment for African- Americans through their service in educational opportunities during the reconstruction period. They built over a thousand schools for the newly freed African- Americans and spent $4000 for the teacher-training institutions. They have also succeeded in helping them through practical aid towards their transistion from slavery to complete freedom.
