Well it depends, GPS is incredibly useful for a lot of people who tend to travel a lot, or need directions and don't like dealing with a physical map.
On the other hand, a lot of people are paranoid that it means the government or who ever else will know where you are at all times.
It's a likely possibility, but it's not as if the government just snatches people up in the street, and if they do it's usually criminals.
I say it does more good than anything else.
