The median is found when you take all the numbers and arrange them from smallest to largest... then you look for the middle number. if there are two middle numbers, you take both numbers, add them together, and then divide by two.
 in this case your answer would be 8 ...
4,5,8,9,10... 8 is middle number

Median: The Middle Value In A Range Of Numbers 2 Or Greater
So, we first Need To Put The Values In Order Of Least To Greatest. 
4, 5, 8, 9, 10 
So, Now We Need To See Which Number Is In The Middle. The Middle Value Is 8.
