In the text “Flowers for Algernon” by  Daniel Key , the  narrative of Flowers for Algernon is based on the “progress reports” that Charlie writes. Daniel Key describes how  Charlie is a 37 year old man with low IQ, who is chosen by scientists to do an experimental surgery to boost his intelligence.. Mrs. Kinnian Charlie's teacher has recommended Charlie for the experiment because of poor spelling and grammar. Charlie becomes smarter than the people around him but  Charlie’s new intelligence begins to have an effect on his job. Things begin to change for Charlie and he  becomes scared..He realizes he can no longer do things he was able to do before.
