Greek mythology is the folklore told about Greek culture which is characterized by gods, monsters, heroes, brave men, etc.

Many heroes in Greek mythology have a bloated sense of ego which is as a result of their numerous conquests and victories. At some point, this turns to excessive pride which eventually leads to their downfall.

A good example is King Odysseus who fought many wars and came out victorious which gave him a bloated ego and his pride at blinding Cyclops' eye and declaring that he was responsible for it, made Poseidon, god of seas to frustrate his voyage for many years.
