The way I did it is I subtract and counted how many times I subtracted until I got to zero. Like so: 4/3 - 1/3 = 3/3.  3/3 - 1/3 = 2/3. 2/3 - 1/3 = 1/3. 1/3 - 1/3 = 0.

Count it, and it equals four.

I know there is other ways to find the answer, but this is just how I did it.
