Which of the following describes why people’s views on leaving children unattended has changed? Parents leave their children unattended more often in modern day. Parents know that they will be held accountable legally if something happens to their child. America’s news emphasizes perceived risks to children more so than other countries. The risks that children face are seen as more common and are exaggerated by social commentary.

We have to keep in mind that we´re talking about the people's views, and not the Parents as such. So we can cross out the first two that mention Parents. Although I believe in media´s influence I doubt it very much that America's news - this is not very exact: it could be the news in Chile - is very different from any other country in this respect.

So there remains only one, which seems to be the most reliable and logic explanation. Especially when we focus on Perceived - but unreal - risk.
