1. PEM is a nutritional disease which means the people suffering from it consume too little protein or energy. When someone doesn't have the right amount of nutrients their body can't maintain homeostasis as well which would lead to unbalanced pH values.

2. Total calorie consumption should consist of 45-65% carbs to support cells and body function. Higher need for intake raises consumption levels in diets

3. Galactose is needed for your body while fructose raises cholesterol and fat accumulation around the organs. Essentially glucose are good sugars and fructose are bad sugars.

4. It's a heart healthy diet that can lower cholesterol and reduce chances of stroke. Typically it's recommended that you eat less fats and change the types of fat (saturated vs. unsaturated)
