As a cell becomes larger, it's volume increases to a certain point. Why is there a limit
on cell size?
O
Too many organelles produce too much waste.
O Having too large a size means the surface area stays the same and the cell
bursts.
It's surface area would double and the large size would cause it to swell.
Having too large a size means that the surface area is too small to allow
materials to cross efficiently

Respuesta :

The reason cells can grow only to a certain size has to do with their surface area to volume ratio. As the cell gets bigger the volume expands but there is a limit to how big the surface area can get.
